My cats love it and it definitely works. Removal of the hair from the gloves is less difficult the more hair is on it. My biggest complaint is that the black material the rest of the glove is made from holds on to hair and it does not come off so the gloves remain messy and drop hair even after the blue silicon nubs have been cleaned off. I have to store it in a bag after use. That black material should be changed to a smooth material that does not hold on to hair.
I've been looking for an alternative way to manage my pup's shedding and all I can say I wish I got these sooner. These gloves showed to be more beneficial all around compared to the typical brushing. For one the pup likes it as opposed to the brush he tried to avoid at every session so I’m not wasting time anymore trying to get him to come here and stay here, etc.. Now it’s wagging tails instead at the sight of these gloves. The process is much quicker now too as the gloves gather not only easier, but I’d say at least twice if not triple the amount of hair at a time. Apparently these gloves work on his mood too as he always ends up starting a playfight nibbling at the gloves. That’s the only distraction really, and not one I’ll ever complain about. Basic and obvious ways work just fine, like picking them out, if you wait till you have a nice thick coat gathered then the hair will bundle up and come off as a layer you can peel off as one piece. If using both gloves rub your palms together it will start rolling the hair in a bundle.
I have two cats, tried a deshedder brush but they hate it and hide the second I take it out, so I was looking for other options and saw these gloves -it turned out to be a life changer! To my surprise cats absolutely love it! They even purr and roll around to make sure I didn't miss a spot. The layer of fur is easy to peel off from the glove (see the uploaded photo), and the more you collect the easier it gets. Now I am able to brush my cats every other day, since they enjoy it so much, which means less fur on my clothes and everywhere else. Very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to cat owners!
We have two 9-year-old fraternal twin cats, one a calico (Mitzy) and one tortiseshell (Mandy). Mandy is the skittish one and Mitzy the curious one. After having the mitts for a couple of days, Mandy hasn't warmed up to it yet. However, I've brushed Mitzy three times with it. After brushing her, her coat seems even more silky than before. At first even Mitzy was a little unsure of the mitt, but by the time I finished brushing her, she seemed to really enjoy it.With many cat brushes, you have to use it one particular direction. However, one thing that I like about the mitt is that you can brush any direction. Of course, on the cat you brush head toward tail, but you don't have to use the mitt any particular way; it picks up gobs of fur however you use it.I never expected to have it pick up so much fur. Our cats are inside cats and they don't seem to shed all that much (they're both shorthaired), but just look at the photo of the first brushing for Mitzy. That's the result of only 2-3 minutes of brushing with the same pressure as just petting her. It's AMAZING!
This is AMAZING! I have a Cocker Spaniel, a Domestic Medium Hair cat, and a Flame Point Siamese (shorthair and smallest but the worst offender!) cat and the hair battle is constant. My dog is well behaved so brushing her isn't difficult. I've also been far more consistent with her because of this so I got far less hair off of her than the boys. The cats, however, don't love it so I can never work on them as long as I would like (or even close). My cats were a little cautiois of this when I first pulled it out but pretty quickly decided it was okay. Still would like to work on them longer BUT just this afternoon I've gotten 3 or 4 5-10min sessions out of them ???? As long as I give their cheeks a little rub every so often, they stay happy and purring. I'm also able to reach more of them because my gloved hand is obviously more flexible than a fixed, hard brush. As long as you've got a decent amount of hair on this glove, it will peel off easily. The fabric material will hold onto some hair but I'm not sure why that matters so much to some people? It's a tool, not home decor.Anyway, highly recommend this product!
I can not give this product enough stars! I have a super lazy, chubby cat, and since I’ve used this brush, her coat is so shiny and soft. I’ve brushed her for two days straight now and I have pulled SOOO much undercoat and dandruff off her skin. And the best part is she freaking loves it. And she’s not a particularly affectionate cat, but she has been ever since these gloves! Easy to clean, made sturdy, adjustable wrists...just buy them. Seriously.
First let me say that I almost NEVER write product reviews, but feel like I would really like to write one for these Pet Grooming Gloves. We have two hairy, senior, sister German Shepherd dogs. Lots of dog hair to be had - it seems that just looking at them makes hair fly off of them. Regular grooming with the Furminator removes a lot of hair but the dogs will only tolerate its use on their backs and sides, due to tender arthritic joints and generalized soreness from aging. So, I thought I would give this product a try - and what a difference ! While the gloves do not remove quite as much as hair as the Furminator, there are other distinct advantages for their use. First, they can be easily used over the whole body - including legs, soft belly, tail, and even the head. All areas can actually be massaged, which the dogs clearly enjoy. The dogs LOVE this. In fact, as soon as they see the gloves they go into their happy dance, happy face mode, while hip-checking each other out of the way to be first in line. Since using the gloves for a while now it seems that the quality of their coats is actually better - perhaps a benefit of massaging the skin and stimulating hair growth (more hair?? - better hair). Their coats are softer and more glossy. Bottom line: these gloves have been absolutely great for my aging hairy dogs, and clearly they will be my only grooming aide for the girls. What else is there to say? Maybe give them a try.
These actually worked great! I have 4 cats with all different types of fur... long fur and fluffy, short fur but thick, short fur but thinner, medium length fur. I rubbed all of them down the same day and for the next week there wouldn't be any fur floating away when we pet them. I realized you have to put more pressure then most cats will like but one of mine loved it, another didn't care either way, and 2 were scared (one is scared of it's own shadow so he doesn't count lol) One tip I can give is to make sure you let the fur build up before trying to get it out of the glove or else it's hard to get the fur out. When there is minimal fur, I used a sticky tape lint roller and that worked great. I don't understand giving a product 1 star if your cat is afraid of the product... does it work or doesn't it? Now fur does fly around when petting the animals especially if they keep trying to walk away, just make sure you do it before you vacuum. For the price and the fact it gets the job done... I'm giving it 5 stars! I gave my set to my neighbor's, I let them try the gloves out on their medium sized, medium length fur dog and they said she loved the gloves and they worked great for them also. I am about to order another set right now. Hope that helps. Yes that is all the fur I got off of them in the picture... I told my husband not to throw his garbage on top until I was done but we know how well men listen.
What an amazing product. My cats, all four, adore the gloves and we have no more furballs. One thing I have learned is that the first time or two that you run the glove down the kitty there is no fur on the glove. But from the third "pet" on I get lots of fur. Now I don't mean third session of using the glove. I mean the third pet with the glove in a session. I have no idea why that is so but from the third petting of the kitty I start getting a lot of loose fur. I have included a picture that shows how much fur I got from my shorthair male. All that fur was from one session with the glove. I had been using wire grooming brushes on them but I still got that much fur. I was absolutely amazed. Now my kitties don't have to hack up those furballs anymore. I don't know about you but it always looks painful to me. Please check out the picture to see how great this product is. And, by the way, my hand is quite large for a woman.
I have a 4 month old husky pup (Sasha) that just started shedding. I have a furminator, but unfortunately she really is too young for that and she hates being brushed, even when brushed lightly to avoid touching her skin. These grooming gloves are the perfect solution! My puppy would sit and let you scratch her all day if you had the time! I can sit and wipe her down and 'scratch/pet' her with the gloves on and she can't get enough of it! It is a win-win scenario. It does take longer than a de-shedding brush like the furminator, but like I said, it is quality time with my pup! She is finally allowed back on the bed!The gloves are super easy to clean too. I initially made the mistake of trying to pull all of the hair off, which doesn't work well since it is obviously meant to hold on to the hair. Instead, rub the gloves together like you are trying to warm your hands and the hair will quickly ball up and fall off into the trashcan! Puppy thinks I am petting her and loves the attention - more quality time!Easy to clean
They work well. Only came in a one size, a bit too big for me. My cat was able to grab and pull off my hand even with wrist strap all the way closed.
I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone with indoor animals. We have an indoor cat and we struggle to keep up with the massive amounts of hair he sheds. The first time I used it he wasn’t crazy about it, but after a few uses he enjoys it and rolls over so I can get his belly. In the picture you can see what a few passes collects on him. The first time I used it I made the mistake of using this inside, there was hair floating everywhere in the room. I have started brushing him outside now, it’s easier on the allergies and leaves me without worry about the hair that floats settling all over the furniture. We also have an outdoor dog, that has very short hair that does not shed much. I tried this on him just out of curiosity and it collected a lot more hair then I anticipated and he really enjoyed the feel of the glove.
These gloves work wonders for my long-haired German Shepherd puppy. My puppy is 11 months old and sheds like crazy. The gloves are perfect because my puppy does not like being brushed by those rough brushes and tries to bite them. With the gloves she doesn't care as much.
Much more soothing, and removes matting and debris like magic!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Before getting these I had a brush that our cat loved, and did a great job of getting hair off him, but it was a loosing battle, he still always was shedding all over the place horribly. When I got these and started petting him with one he loved it do much I put on the second (this comes with one right hand and one left hand glove, for less then most charge for a single glove) but he was in heaven and will let me brush him much longer, without getting worked up then he will with a brush, and the gloves excel are collecting cat hair. Within two or three days of getting these gloves you could tell the difference on the amount of hair on him when petting him with a bear hand. He also felt like he had enough hair 2-3 cats but now his coat is thin, silky and sleek.I'm only had these for just under two weeks and they seem well put together, but honestly, as great as these work, as much as my cat loves them, even if they only last a month or two they would still be well worth it, but from the build quality I am sure they will last much longer than a couple months! These would probably be great for dogs as well, but not having a dog I can't say for sure, but I can't imagine it would be that much different.
These gloves are amazing. They have exceeded my expectations which were very high to begin with based on other reviews. I could not believe the amount of loose hair I got out of my cat with these gloves. The best part is my cat LOVES being groomed with these gloves and he seems a lot more comfortable and does not get overheated as easily in this really hot weather we are currently having. My cat was a little nervous at first when he saw me put on the glove and approach him. I gently grabbed a hold of him before he could walk away and as soon as I started stroking his fur with the gloves, he immediately relaxed and started purring and rubbing on me like crazy. I did 3 separate sessions of grooming on him the first day I received the gloves and he LOVED it each time and I got 3 huge piles of loose hair out of his coat. He was very happy and appreciative. He also hardly sheds at all now, whereas before I groomed him with the gloves ( I was previously using a brush) he was shedding like crazy and just getting hair all over the house and me. I would give these gloves 10 stars if I could.
I have 2 cats (medium hair) and 2 dogs (short and medium hair). These gloves do not work well on the short haired dog. I guess because the hair grippers are too long. Unsure. But for the longer haired animals, these work wonderfully. Simply put them on and begin petting/rubbing the animal. Loose hair comes off like magic. This is a blessing in the Spring and Summer when they begin shedding their Winter fur.My cats love them most. It has reached the point that when I put the gloves on the cats slowly begin making their way toward me. (Cats do not rush. They like to make you think that they are doing you a favor by coming to you, instead of wanting you to groom them. It is a cat thing.)
WOW!!! I brushed the cat with our regular brush and got a bit of fur..... then I used "THE GLOVE"..... I got enough fur off that cat to knit a wig for my bald head! Now I just gotta learn how to knit. AMAZING!!!! The cat purrs and seems to enjoy the process or maybe she just likes all the new attention she gets from everyone wanting to see how much fur we can get off her..... poor cats looks like she's lost 10 pounds. Best of this whole thing is that there isn't cat hairballs all over our hardwood floors. We can pick up the cat without a cloud of hair trailing behind us. This product is every bit as good as described. If you have a cat or maybe you are a cat lady or cat dude... you need these gloves. FYI - they also work well on sleeping teenagers.... but they don't seem to appreciate it as much as the cat.
Problem, SOLVED! Every cat I've ever had has loved being brushed down their back but has hated getting their sides brushed. With these gloves on I can brush their sides and back at the same time. The gloves themselves are large; at first I was concerned that with so much extra space I wouldn't have enough control to get a good brushing in but that hasn't turned out to be a problem. My cats are 'medium' and 'short' furred with my short-furred kitty having very fine fur close to her body. These work very well on her. My only concern, which is minor, is that the little nubs are short so I don't know if it stimulates the skin as well as a conventional brush but these let me brush spots I could never brush so it's a good trade. The fur does, mostly, peel off the gloves but you need to build up a layer of fur for that to work. If you brush your cats regularly this may mean it takes a couple of days for there to be enough fur on the mat for it to peel.
I bought this product upon recommendation from one of my friends. One of my biggest pet peeves (pun intended) is the amount of hair that my two short haired cats shed! I have tried brushes, Furminator combs and many other options, but my cats seem to be slightly traumatized and a huge mess is made.Enter the grooming glove- I really like that the package comes with both a right and left handed glove, and both of my cats enjoy the massage from the soft bumps on the glove.Now- there is still a minimal mess that occurs from some excess hair flying around, but it is NOTHING compared to how much hair flies around with a traditional brush.Their fur is left soft and shiny, and now they actually jump up on my lap when they see my bring out the gloves. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has shedding animals- both cats and dogs.I would certainly buy this product in the future as well if my current ones ever wear out.
My cat won't stop following me around! He knows I possess the Mighty Gloves and only I can wield their magic powers! But seriously my cat is a wimp, a wuss. New things freak him out but after a few slow attempts, he gave into the temptation.
I love these gloves! My dog never really liked being groomed with a brush but when he sees me put these gloves and he gets so excited. They have been great at getting rid of his fur and his shedding is noticeably better. I am not kidding when I say when I would vacuum our floors they would get clogged with his hair, now after using these gloves that is not a problem. I would tell you though that the hair doesn’t necessarily stick to the gloves and it can be a little tricky to get the hair off the gloves when you are done. But overall this was an amazing purchase, highly recommend. Great for grooming a dog quickly.
I have two cats with short hair (not at all like a Maine Coon) but they are both extremely soft with thick fur. So, naturally, the fur gets everywhere and on everything. Our pet hairbrush was good but one of the cats didn't really like it too much--the other LOVES the metal brush--so I thought I'd try something different that both might like. These gloves fit my adult male hands well and they do the job well. The best part is that it's a nice way to bond with my cats that much more. They're getting pets, attention, and they're being groomed. It's pretty great. The seller also reached out after my purchase to give me some tips on how to get the most out of the gloves--e.g. spray a tiny amount of water on the silicone to make it easier to capture fur and keep it from flying all over the place. Brilliant.Great stuff, will buy again if needed.
This seemed like a good idea, and maybe it is for the right animal, but I have a shorthair cat, and these gloves remove zero hair. Maybe a longhair cat, or a dog would benefit from this, or maybe the weather is too cold for my cat to do any shedding, but for me the results of using this have been nil. I’ll probably end up giving them to the owner of a shaggy dog (but that’s another story). On the plus side, they do pretty much fit any size hand. My hands are big enough that the Velcro strap won’t fasten around my wrist, but my hands are extra, extra large, and yet the gloves do fit comfortably despite the Velcro not closing. The gloves do appear to be well made and I would expect them to last a good long while, they just didn’t do anything for my cat.
I have two male cats (buzz & boots) I purchased the glove and received it super fast. my cats watched me remove the glove from the package and yes they ran at first but came back to see what it was (curious) when I put it on. lol. I let them smell it and I started rubbing buzz on the head. He jumped on the couch and he didn't run from the glove he enjoyed it so much he laid on his back and let me rubbed the belly and he turned over on both sides for me to do.lol I didn't have to hold him he was actually going to sleep so boots came over to see what was I doing to buzz smack at him to say get away. Now I didn't take pictures but it was a lot of hair but it peeled off so easy.Boots always run when he sees the brush he will let you brush the top towards his tail but you have to hold him to get groomed. I let him smell the glove and he laid on the floor and I didn't have to hold him he turned over for me to get everywhere lol. he too enjoyed it .when I finished I fed them and they went to sleep. The gloves were so easy to clean by hand it peels off easily and it left their coat smooth and shiny. I wish I was limited in giving this item stars because I would give them 100 stars. My cats have short hair and they constantly sheds so I vacuum every other day and I Brush them once a week and I would see hair in corners. This product is so amazing I brush them a few days before using the glove and still I got a ball of hair from the glove.
I love these SO much. While it's impossible to guarantee that they'll work for you, they're literally the only thing that's worked on my cat. We have 4 different brushes that he throws a fit about when I try to use. Even worse, he BITES the brushes and some of them are metal or hard plastic and he could hurt himself. He was very wary of these gloves, but I just acted like these was my hand and petted him and scratched around his ears. He still doesn't love them, but he doesn't run away and in fact acts like he could possibly be enjoying it. There's purring. which is possibly from stress rather than enjoyment so I hesitate to say he's actually having a good time, but it must be done. I've seen devices do a better job getting fur out, but these are 5-star for me as they're pretty well made and non threatening to a cat who hates to be groomed. Worth a try if your pet hates brushing!
These gloves work nicely. The tips are not too hard, and they do a great job of pulling off the loose fur. It's like a Zoom Groom, only gentler. My elderly Scottish Fold boy is quite thin and doesn't have a lot of muscle mass anymore, so I tried using it with the lightest touch possible. He wasn't crazy about it, but he tolerated it. My other boy, a cobby Scottish Fold with the densest, plushest fur I've ever felt, loves it. I pulled off a bath mat's worth from his coat last night. Seriously. I don't need a lot of pressure to get the fur off, but I suppose it depends upon your cat and his/her purr-reference. My Persian girl is okay with the glove, but she pre-furs her comb over the glove. Great idea and it works!
I am leaving a 5 star review from MY point of view, not my cat’s. I have a short-haired calico, named “Malice the cat formerly known as Alice”. We find bits of Malice hair floating here, there, everywhere. I have a Roomba and also use a broom and dustpan, but they can’t keep up with the spring shedding season. So, my husband said, “Hey, what about these nifty grooming gloves?” They do look like just the ticket, so I ordered them up. I got them out of the package last night. They fit my hands (regular sized lady hands) and my husband’s (long fingers). So, that’s a plus. That brings us to this morning. Malice has had breakfast, is sitting in the sun enjoying herself. I think now would be a great time to pet (secretly groom her) with these gloves. I put them on and come towards her. She arched her back, starts growling and hissing. Sadly, not completely out of the norm for Malice. So, I get a few pets in before she gets a few swipes in on my gloved knuckles. The amount of hair I got off of her was AMAZING. I didn’t have time to do more, because I needed to tend to my bleeding knuckles. So, for those of you out there who have normal, affectionate cats, I wholeheartedly recommend.
This is an amazing product for shedding and non shedding dogs!! We got 2 Golden Doodles, litter mates, and it's very funny that one got the shedding fur of the Golden Retriever, and the other got the hypoallergenic non shedding fur of the Doodle. These gloves did a wonderful job at helping us groom both the dogs!!! And to remove the hair from the glove, all I did was run my hand backwards (from fingers to wrist) a few times which really did a great job! I'm totally recommending this to my friends!!
